Dental Disease In Cats

Dental disease is one of the most common problems we see in veterinary practice. It’s thought that as many as 90% of pets will suffer from it in some way or the other before the age of five. Symptoms in cats may include; drooling, bad breath, discolored teeth, wobbly teeth, red and inflamed gums etc.

Why Does Dental Disease Occur In Cats.
The most common forms of dental disease begin with a build up of plaque, a film of bacteria that begin to develop on the tooth surface. However, at this stage the plaque can be removed by mechanical means such as, tooth brushing or special dental diets that helps scrub the bacterial film away from the tooth surface.
